2003 U-19 World Championships
ELIGIBILITY
To be eligible to play, a player can only have graduated from High School in 2008 and must be 18 years of age or younger at the start of the event. If a team has players that span more than one age group, the team will be bracketed into the division that corresponds to the oldest player on the roster.
PROOF OF AGE
Passports, birth certificates or driver's licenses (for players that are old enough to have them) are required for verification by tournament staff when the team checks-in.
ROSTER SIZE
Minimum 15 / Maximum 25
GAME DURATION
Games will be scheduled in 1 hr and 30 minute blocks to allow for any delays that arrive. Four (2) fifteen (15) minute running quarters. One (1) timeout per team per half will be allowed. Timeouts will be two (2) minutes in length. Timeouts will be allowed within the last two (2) minutes of the game. The timeout will stop the clock. There will be no timeouts allotted in the overtime period. Halftime will be five (5) minutes. Last two (2) minutes of the game will be stop time. Penalty minutes will carry over from one half to the next.
OVERTIME
If necessary, overtime will be a 5 minute "sudden victory" format. The first team to score in the overtime period shall be declared the winner. In round robin games, if no team scores in overtime the score will be recorded as a tie and the game will end.
PLAY-OFF SEEDING
Teams will be seeded for playoffs based on win/loss record in pool play.
